Yesterday RaShad and I attended the grand opening fundraiser at Tiff’s Treats. I learned about the fundraiser (and the existence of Tiff’s Treats) on Friday morning. On yesterday only, one dozen cookies were sold for $3 each with proceeds going to Candlelighters Childhood Family Cancer Alliance. I’m all for supporting a good cause and my family LOVES sweets so I didn’t mind the 40 minute drive.
Tiff Treats opened at 9am, but of course, that was way too early for us to get up and dressed and on that side of town so we missed out on the giveaways. We arrived at around 11:40am, and oh boy was I surprised. The line was out the door! They have an amazing fan base. I decided to sit in the car and wait for the line to die down. After ten minutes of watching the line not move and seeing more people come, we got out of the car. We were greeted by one of the workers. I appreciate the time he took to explain the concept of Tiff’s Treats to me. He seemed very sincere, and his excitement made me anxious to get in and see what the buzz was about.
We stood in line a little over 45 minutes. I’m not sure why the line was moving so slowly because once we were inside the door things moved pretty quickly. RaShad wanted chocolate chip cookies so we ordered a fresh batch, and fresh they were indeed. They were piping hot, straight from the oven. Of course my cookie monster, RaShad, insisted on having a bite immediately. They were baked to perfection. Tiff’s Treats does not disappoint. My angel was happy so for me, it was well worth the long drive & wait.
